The clients undertook an extensive renovation of the exterior and interior spaces to create a fresh and exciting Modern Farmhouse look throughout. The exterior was updated with the new colour palette, new roofing, board and batten siding, new doors and windows, and front landscaping. The upper-level porch/mudroom was enclosed at the end of the house to extend the kitchen. This allowed us to create a beautiful breakfast bar with windows on three sides, providing seating for the galley kitchen. The size and placement of all of the kitchen windows were adjusted to accommodate the new expanded cabinetry layout.

The dining and living room spaces were updated with a new fireplace surround and built-ins, shiplap accent wall, lighting and furnishings, in keeping with the all-white palette, warm metals and wood accents. To create a more expansive and airy feel to the living spaces, the drywalled stairway surround on the upper floor was replaced with crisp black spindles, white railings, and tone-on-tone dog-friendly carpeting on the treads. The open spindles and railings are repeated in the foyer at the bottom of the stairs — a nice invitation to the main floor.

The bathrooms were updated in fresh white and warm metal finishes. We love the spectacular star and gold accent tile for the shower floors and shampoo recesses. We were able to steal some unused closet space from the hallway to expand the ensuite shower.
